Phones

Setup

You can connect Zuthree Manager with your phones in two ways: through DHCP auto-discovery or by manually configuring your phones. In either case, you’ll need to know the IP address of the machine running Zuthree Manager.

To check IP address, run:

Terminal window
ip a

and find the inet of eth0. In the example below, the IP address is 192.168.0.101.

Terminal window
$ ip a
1: lo: <LOOPBACK,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 65536 qdisc noqueue state UNKNOWN group default qlen 1000
link/loopback 00:00:00:00:00:00 brd 00:00:00:00:00:00
inet 127.0.0.1/8 scope host lo

2: eth0: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 1500 qdisc fq_codel state UP group default qlen 1000

DHCP auto-discovery (Option 66)

To use auto-discovery of a tftp server you can use option 66 which specifies Boot Server Address, that allows you to specify a server to provision your desk phone from.

Each Router has it’s own naming nomenclature for this option. For example, Unifi uses just TFTP Server under: Networks > Network Name > DHCP > DHCP Server Management > TFTP Server

Check your router documentation and specification for more detils on your own device.
